Colors don't come out particularly vivid, but images 'straight out of the camera' usually need to be edited anyway. It's not particularly fast, but it's not too slow either. I use it on an older version of MacOS and the only issue is I have to jiggle the mouse between frames or it stops scanning. The software impressed me, there's no bloat and even though this scanner came out in 2007 there's a version for Windows 11 and MacOS 10.15.
